Shelby Phillips is a multi-disciplinary writer, artist, musician, and graphic designer primarily from the Midwest. Originally born in Wisconsin, Shelby’s upbringing exposed her to many experiences and carried her to a sweeping variety of places (Iowa, New York, Ohio, Hawaii, and Nevada to name just a few). Her parents instilled in her a heavy appreciation for the arts at a young age. Musical talent comes by Shelby through both ancestral wings of the family tree, so there was no way she was ever going to escape piano lessons. Musical instruction that would begin at the age of seven and continue throughout college. To this day, she is an accomplished pianist, organist, clarinet player, and saxophonist. (While in Hawaii she dabbled with ukulele and guitar. Access to new instruments incite a compulsive need to figure out how they work.)
